Paul Allen to miliarder i współzałożyciel Microsoftu. Właśnie wydał swoją drugą solową płytę, a pierwszą dla dużej wytwórni. Zestaw gości na krążku to konstelacja gwiazd - Ann i Nancy Wilson, Chrissie Hynde, Joe Walsh, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall, David Hidalgo i Ivan Neville. Wśród muzyków sesyjnych zauważyłem M.Landaua, G.Novaka, J.Haslipa, S.Kinseya czy G.Leisza. Po takim wstępie nasuwa się stereotypowe spostrzeżenie, iż miliarder po prostu realizuje swoje hobby na miarę swoich możliwości finansowych. Jednak gdy odrzucimy stereotypy i złośliwości okazuje się, że mamy do czynienia z bardzo solidnym materiałem, którego Allen jest w całości twórcą lub współtwórcą. Swoich gitarowych umiejętności także Paul nie musi się wstydzić, nawet na tle takich gigantów jak Walsh czy Trucks. Oczywiście po takiej plejadzie gwiazd można by oczekiwać muzycznego trzęsienia ziemii, ale aż tak dobrze nie jest. Po prostu klasyczny rock w jego typowo amerykańskiej odmianie, a więc mocno podszyty bluesem i soulem. Instrumentalnie na najwyższym światowym poziomie. Niektóre numery mogą nawet aspirować do grania w radiostacjach, ale na całe szczęście tego popowego zabarwienia jest stosunkowo mało. Ja tej płyty słucham z rosnąca przyjemnością.
